Making Sock Monsters

My nieces- Zoe (11) & Hannah (12) saw a picture of some sock monsters in a parenting magazine at my moms house & ask if they could make them. My mom was going to take them to the dollar store to get supplies but I told them that there was no need- I was sure I had everything that they needed stuffed away in my way too packed & way too messy sewing room & I did- except for the socks {which I found in my old sock drawer- I really need to clean that thing out...}

They were super easy. I helped do some of the sewing but they did all the designing themselves. I definitely have two of the most creative nieces around. {did I mention they speak french}

The Washable Squashable High Chair

We take our Ikea high chairs everywhere with us, even on our 12 hour road trip to Arizona! {actually we took 2- luckily we have the swager wagon} Would have been nice though to have one of these Washable Squashable Totseats from The Spoon Sisters online store.

I'm also loving these Constructive Eating Utensils. My not so little anymore boy was always a good eater but he would have loved eating even more with these spoon & fork shaped trucks. Shoot I may buy them for myself..

How fabulous is my friend Karin's birthday surprise bedroom makeover to her almost 14 year daughter Sofie? Seriously she sent the kid off to a slumber party & the kid came back to this. LUCKY! Don't die laughing when you read Karin's blog. She one of my most hilarious friends...

Leotard Fever

Wouza! My sister Lisa finally launched her leotard line Eleve Dancewear! How beautiful are these leotards & these dancers. {all from the kansas city ballet- quixotic fusion- owen/cox dance group or jacoby & pronk contemporary dance} If you're in the dance world you know how hard it is to get a decent leotard - not only one that fits great but looks really cool as well.

If you go onto the Eleve Dancewear site you get to put your leotard together one piece at a time. You start by picking your base which can be a solid color or print.

Then you can pick either mesh, print or a solid color at the top. Have fun getting started with your custom made leo. You have so many leotards to choose from it may be really hard…
