Do You Believe In Ghosts
So I was in my sewing room last Thursday night working on some goods for the Beehive Bazaar. At this particular time I was working on embellishing some T-shirts, kind of like I did for that winter show. Sometimes I like to try on the shirts to see if the ruffles or flowers are laying right & as I took my shirt off my sewing machine started running. It totally freaked me out! I went over quickly to the machine to turn it off & as my heart was racing I just kept thinking OMG we have a ghost. Then I thought that maybe it was some magnetic thing going on. (my pedal is metal & so is the base of my table) The very next day the exact same thing happened! As soon as I took off my shirt my machine started running again. Freaky! Now I'm the kind of person that is a total wuss, I can't even watch commercials for scary movies or anything to do with ghost, but I kept my cool & kept working.
I've always kind of thought we had spirits living in our house but come on can they really physically turn things on? Needless to say I took my shirt off a few days later to try on another shirt & nothing happened so I guess the pervy ghost has moved on. (maybe to my sexy neighbor down the street)

Play- Land Suitcases
So you have an addiction to old suitcases but they don't do anything but sit in the corner of your living room. Of course they look amazing just sitting there but why not put them to use! Kalleen from At Second Chance did just that. How cool are these suitcases now. Her Dad gave her the idea & she went to town making Dino Land her tutorial is amazing & looks like tons of fun to do.
When she was a little girl her parents made the Cowboys & Indians & Zoo suitcase play-lands below. No wonder she's so creative!

Eco Tip friday
Reducing toilet water usage
To cut down on water waste, put an inch or two of sand or pebbles inside each of two plastic bottles to weigh them down. Fill the bottles with water, screw the lids on, and put them in your toilet tank, safely away from the operating mechanisms. This may save ten or more gallons of water per day.
These devices will reduce the volume of water in the tank but will still provide enough for flushing. (Bricks are not recommended since they eventually crumble and could damage the working mechanism.)
Be sure at least 3 gallons of water remain in the tank so it will flush properly. If there is not enough water to get a proper flush, users will hold the lever down too long or do multiple flushes to get rid of waste. Two flushings at 1.4 gallons is worse than a single 2.0 gallon flush.
For new installations, consider buying "low flush" toilets, which use 1 to 2 gallons per flush instead of the usual 3 to 5 gallons.
Replacing an 18 liter per flush toilet with an ultra-low volume (ULV) 6 liter flush model represents a 70% savings in water flushed and will cut indoor water use by about 30%.

Wa$ted = Eco Tip
I've been watching this show on planet green called wa$ted. It's where they go into peoples houses and basically show them how wasteful they are. i love it. I wish someone would come to my house so I know for sure that I am recycling correctly & not wasting anything. Plus they give the people a butte load of cash if they do well.
I'm going to start a weekly eco tip that i've learned from the show or elsewhere.
So here's Eco Tip #1
If everyone used 1 gallon less of water every day while showering it would save 85 billon gallons of water every year which is the equivalent of 66 Lake Michigan's. Plus it will reduce your electrical bill. (due to hot water usage)

Easter Weekend
Hope everyone's Easter was fab. We went to my in-laws to celebrate 3 birthdays as well as Easter. Unfortunately about 5 minutes away from their house Little pookie totally barfed all over her Easter dress & her car seat. We didn't see any signs of her being sick so it was a really NICE surprise. My mom came as well- so that made it extra fun!
My friend Tia & I had an Easter Part-ee with some friends on Friday. Dying eggs with 7 toddlers was very interesting. I've never felt so OCD about my dinning room table. I laid down a table cloth, then towels, THEN the kids could dye their eggs. I cut up some empty toilet paper rolls to set the eggs on to dry. Not super pretty , but useful right.
These are the girls Easter dresses. I found the material on Etsy from the seller Cotton Blue Isn't it amazing. The pattern is from a Japanese dress pattern book. I'm making a bunch for the Beehive Bazaar May 5th- 8th come see if you can!
The kids Easter egg baskets- I bought K a tie & boxers from the Liberty of London collection at target. The cars are one of my favorite prints. I have some of the material. I bought it while I was in NYC last April at Purl Bee love that store. Can't wait to visit the new version in a couple of weeks!

After that we frosted some huge yummy sugar cookies shaped like rabbits that Tia made & then had an Easter egg hunt in the back yard. Luckily most of the snow had melted & it had turned into a nice day 53ยบ...
Could I just take one good picture please!
