Happy New Year!

Just a little late on this post but super excited about this up coming year! I don't think I'll be setting any resolutions but I do have a ton of stuff I would like to accomplish this year- I just don't want the pressure to HAVE to do them- maybe that way they will actually get done. One thing I do want the pressure of getting done is a few tutorials I've had on my mind for years. So stayed tuned for those- cause they may actually happen!

Here are a few instagram pics from the past weeks. NYE at our house & a few other happenings.

couldn't resist the hot pink balloons from zurchers

early countdown with the kids = extra fun/ loud noise

made a new years sign out of pipe cleaner & yarn. I started wrapping the sign with yarn about an hr before the party started & finished with help from my friend megan she also does lashes in NYC

pipe cleaner tutorial found here- I used three pipe cleaners together
to make my happy new year thicker. I got a tip from another person to use
floral wire instead of pipe cleaner- since pipe cleaners doesn't come very long &
floral wire can be cut to whatever length you need it to be- next time...

this happened one night when my bestie chris came to pick me up for dinner-  I changed...

we celebrated 5 years!!!!

this is what happens to some people when you get married in your 30's! 3 kids under 3 1/2 ...

ever wonder where we got the name reyn from? this is reyn soffe we like him a lot- did I mention he's married to the megan who helped with the HNY's sign- we like her a lot also

Oh Baby

I can't believe my baby's 2! Ida is soooo different from Elsa it's amazing. She can be sweet one minute & unbelievably spicy the next. We never know what to expect with this little creature but when she wants to snuggle I'm first in line. Happy Birthday beautiful girl.

* too many pictures? ya but she's such a cutie-how could I not...

Sunny Day

We finally had a beautiful sunny day on Saturday which made me very grateful that my sister in law Ande called to invite us to go hiking up millcreek canyon- especially since Adam was going to be gone all day & I really had nothing planned. The weather last week was so sporadic- mostly rainy. We even had snow- huge fat  snow flakes like i've never seen before {wish I had pictures} it was both depressing & really cool.

Ida started out pretty pretty great hiking on her own- wouldn't even hold any of our hands- she's very independent

snack break 15 minutes into our hike- I love hiking with kids...

Aunt Ande & cousin Soleil

Ida on Uncle Ben- like I said she didn't last long- & the girls cousin dog Kingsley

I bought the sweat shirt Elsa has on for kung-fu baby but couldn't resist putting it on her-
she looks pretty adorbs.
p.s. this is one of the only times you'll see Elsa in pants. she was dying to go hiking so she- for once-
put on what I wanted her to wear with out a fight. oh 3 year olds.

luckily Ida's pretty light cause I think I may be carrying a 10 lbs baby

Tutu's & Ballet Woas

I don't think I ever mentioned that Ida started taking ballet classes with Elsa in January. At first she took to it pretty well- but the last few classes she'll start out joining everyone- then decides she doesn't want to participate. She'll sit on my lap & whine or pull at my hair & she won't let me put her down. This has become really hard on me these days with a bulging belly & trying to guide Elsa around as well.  I thought at first maybe it was because the class is a little loud & it just made her a little nervous or she just wanted all my attention instead of sharing my lap with Elsa- so today I took her to a separate class {without Elsa} that is much quieter- but she still did the same thing. SO I've decided to take her out!

Don't worry we'll try again next fall & she'll still be able to wear these cute little tutu leo's then. {they're really bathing suits bought from Old Navy}

sorry for the blurry iphone pics- these gals have a hard time staying still

what's cuter than tutu bums

she calls this leo her "princess" dress

Elsa's favorite boots! I have no idea what she's going to do next winter when they don't fit anymore

Pattern Testing

So Angela from The Artists' House was doing a review for Lena from Lena's Needle Craft Patterns & asked me to whip up a pair of her little booties. They where really easy & where similar to the booties I use to make out of fleece. They took me about 45 minutes but would have taken less time if the kids where napping- BUT they where playing in the living room next to us & trying to get our attention any chance they could. My little Ida loves to come give me hugs every 15 minutes & come on I really can't complain about that. {that little girls holds my heart in her hands & she knows it}

I decided to make them a size 3- 6 months & to line them in fleece. That way they are ready for new baby & the colder weather. Have I mentioned I'm having a BOY! So excited about this. He's quite the little kung fu artist already- kicking like crazy- especially today.

this is the pair Angela made- super cute eh
* over all I would suggest for anyone to buy any of Lena's patterns- {they are super cheap- $4.50- $6. 50}  each come with a bunch of different sizes so when your little one grows out of the one pair you can just whip up another- but do it while he/ she is sleeping....

**the artist house is also doing two giveaways-15 fat quarters from the fandango, kate spain line + 2 patterns from needle craft patterns! giveaway ends monday so go enter now.

*** did anyone watch the grammy's? finally a really good band {arcade fire} won the album of the year! if you haven't heard their 2004 album funerals just buy it today. it's one of the best albums EVER!

Valentines Love/ the Dreadful Day is Here

Just kidding! Valentines is really pretty fun when you have some kiddo's involved. We had to bring Valentines to Elsa & Ida's nursery class yesterday at church- so being the kind of person that hates spending money on things I created the valentines below. I used the same illustration I used for Elsa's birthday invite- I just took out a few balloons to make it smaller & changed the coloring & added a back which I wish I had now done with the invite. {who doesn't like a cute robot butt} I had fun adding some Japanese masking tape. I think it adds such cuteness to everything. {remember last years elsa so cute}

We stuffed them with sweetheart candies {read the history of the sweetheart candy here- ♻ say yes to hoboken} & closed them off with japanese masking tape

* sorry about the terrible iphone pics- why am i so lazy...

Ida/ 18 months

The night started out pretty good- dinner at Adam's sisters then off to see the lights at Temple Square. The first 25 or so minutes went pretty well but then this little creature decided she wanted to be miss independent- wanting to walk around on her own, not wanting to hold anyones hand, resulting in the biggest freakout/ tantrum i've ever seen come out of her. Poor girl- she just wants to be big already.

Also she's 18 months today. This may not mean a lot to some people but at our church it means she's off to nursery & I can once again listen in church!  Don't get me wrong sometimes it's nice to have this little distraction around but I think I'm just ready to relax again. (it's been a couple of years)

Let Halloween Begin!

The girls were invited to two birthday parties on Saturday so Adam & I decided to divide & concur. One was a Halloween costume party & the other wasn't. Guess who was going to which one.  {p.s. elsa's won't take her cowboy-cowgirl elsa boots off} that's what she calls them. I bought the boots for Elsa last April at the Hester Street Fair in NYC & love that they finally fit.

I love this pose- get in shape girl
I've had this costume in my head for a couple of months now. my goal this year was to use stuff I had around the house to save on money. the only thing I ended up buying was the leo when I was at the $1 store last week- i couldn't resist.

it was a beautiful day in the 70's so I could get away with the leo. I'm thinking when Halloween comes around- I may have to put a long sleeve onesie on her. I had some elastic webbing that I made into a belt- head band & wrist band.

I'm too lazy to take a better picture- I love the belt buckle- it reminds me of my childhood

Ida's 1st Year

I think it's pretty crazy how fast/slow a year can go by. I feel like it was just a moment ago that I had Ida. She really has been such a joy to have around. Just look at those eyes. They are so bright & happy. We love this little creature! Happy first year of life. You really make us laugh.

Ida did her first real walking over the weekend. More than 5 steps & that giggle at the end kills me ever time I watch this.

*notice the long sleeves & pants in the video & the tank top in the next photo? Yes we were super cold then super hot the very next day.... UT get it together please

Blanket House

I downloaded all my girls trip + Dave pics onto my newer computer that is always dead these days (baby Ida sucked on the cord one too many times) So I won't be showing any pics until husband brings his cord home over the weekend from his office- BUT here are a couple of pics he sent me of the blanket house he built for the girls. How did he do watching 2 little girls for 5 1/2 days, with a little help from my moms? Well besides little pookie being clothes-less they look like they had a blast.

I love how the quilt looks like a stained glass window

P.s. girls you should plan a girls trip quick- your husbands appreciation for you will rise 10 times & guys you'll definitely get lucky the night she gets home.
