Log Cabin to Modern Bliss

My friend Travis' brother Calder & his wife Starr started out with this 700 ft cabin in Midway Utah & turned it into their dream home. I love how they mixed the old with the new. They used reclaimed wood from a bowling alley & stone from an old city building... wow I just absolutely love this concept. See more pics at Grassroots Modern.

Modern Love/ MoMA store

Every time I'm in NYC I have to go to the MoMA store after checking out the Museum so I can see what cool tricks the designers have been up to in person. No such luck this year on the "in person" part so here are some of my fav's online! {part 1 in the kitchen}

Modern Love/ Bachelor Pad HI- FI Style

I've been checking out some man blogs lately & came across The Selvedge Yard. In the side bar I noticed {amongst many other amazing links} these posts called "Retro HI- FI in a Dark & Cozy Man Cave"- so I had to repost. I'm sure if I was a bachelor living in the 60's & 70's  I may have taken a girl or two down to make out in one of these man caves. {with The Beatles or Simon & Garfunkle playing on the hi-fi of course}

Modern Love/ Chairs

There's a  Magnetic fields song called Reno Dakota that has a line that says " Reno Dakota theres not an iota of kindness in you. You know you enthrall me and yet you don't call me 
It's making me blue, Pantone 292" 


Every time I see or hear the word pantone  I can't help but sing that line. Plus it's a pretty funny song. I'm loving these pantone folding chairs designed by Selab Studios. You can buy them at the  A + R Store online.

My Space Who

Have you seen Facebooks headquarters? {That makes it sound like a government building or something} If you haven't heard of facebook then you probably live in a cave- You can't watch a t.v. show or movie these days without someone mentioning It. Remember when it was all about My Space & then it became a soft porn site. .

I ♥ facebook. I'm not going to hide it. It has connected me to so many old friends that I would never be able to connect with- without it. Plus I have some pretty hilarious friends.

Modern Love/ Living Pad

I wish I had a living room space big enough for this beautiful living pool/couch found on Design Museum. The best part is how you can totally change it up. I guess I could fit half of it into my house.
